In the central clearing of the forest, a massive wooden stage had been constructed. It was to serve as the primary battleground and ceremonial platform for the confrontation with Selene. Down by the riverside, a group of otters, together with water sprites, summoned torrents and whirlpools, ensuring that no shadow could cross the water's boundaries. In the treetops, archer squirrels, aided by airborne allies, rained down arrows, their tips enchanted to pierce even the ethereal forms of Selene's army.

Yet, despite their brave efforts, the defenders found themselves gradually being pushed back. The sheer numbers and unrelenting force of Selene's army seemed overwhelming.
